Rule #1 of responding to a Request for Proposal or Qualifications is to read it. Unfortunately, many people still manage to confuse a comprehensive understanding of the RFP with a hurried inspection of the client’s requirements.
If you don’t read each word, each sentence with careful thought and deliberation, you might miss valuable insight buried within the document. Envision each section of the RFP as a piece of a puzzle that may reveal the true nature of the issues and obstacles facing the client.
Don’t just read the RFP. Read the RFP between the lines.
